My work is fired in a gas fired kiln, and is made of high temperature porcelain clay, fired to 2300 degrees in a reduction atmosphere. This creates beautiful color, and a very strong body.

My first love is decoration, so while my functional ware can be used in an oven, microwave and dishwasher, and my glazes contain nothing that is unhealthy, they are my art. I consider a new set of tableware to be a design problem, often creating one of a kind styles for customers. This is very satisfying to all concerned, and I have learned much from this interactive process. In the twenty-five years that I have been a potter, I have always kept in mind my goal of combining painting and clay work. As a result, most of my slab pieces are one-of-a-kind.

My early training was at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and later as a student of Peter Volkous at the University of California, Berkeley. My prices range from $20 to $250.
