I create whimsical ceramic artwork which has been my passion for over ten years now. I discovered clay when I studied Graphic Design at the University of Aachen in Germany.

Having been raised in a place where we use rich colors to brighten up rainy days, my work always has a happy feel to it. My work is strongly influenced by Japanese Pop culture and can be described as "Kawaii", a Japanese term which translates to cute or adorable. Cuteness has become a nearly universally esteemed aspect of Japanese culture which has become to fascinate me.

Other influences for the playful feel come from artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle for her colorful Nanas, Romero Britto for his bold colors. But I also get inspired by the beauty of the California nature, and my love for animals, especially my cat and two dogs.

My work is entirely built by hand which makes every piece very unique. I like to see where my fingers have been, the dents and prints which make my pieces special. My work takes the form of bowls, cups, teapots and various Pop Art Sculptures.
